Greg Anderson appointed executive director of Gulf Coast Village

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (Jan. 27, 2022) – Volunteers of America National Services has named Greg Anderson to the role of executive director at Gulf Coast Village responsible for overseeing the operations of the nonprofit continuing care retirement community in Cape Coral.

Bringing more than 20 years of experience in senior living, Anderson previously served in several leadership positions around the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area of Minnesota, where he spent time as a director of senior housing for Great Lakes Management Company, executive director for Woodbury Senior Living and regional director of operations for Alterra Healthcare Corporation. Anderson began working at Gulf Coast Village in May 2017, serving in administrative roles for the community in various settings including independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing. 

“Greg has served in a variety of care settings at Gulf Coast Village, and one of his greatest strengths is his rapport with residents, their families and our associates,” said Jacci Nickell, senior vice president of healthcare operations for Volunteers of America National Services, the sponsor organization of Gulf Coast Village. “Greg brings a wealth of experience to the role and continues to demonstrate his leadership even under challenging circumstances, such as the pandemic. Volunteers of America National Services is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need live healthy, safe and productive lives. The organization sponsors Gulf Coast Village, which is Cape Coral’s premier Continuing Care Retirement Community that offers a full continuum of care for adults over age 62. The community features independent living, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, home health, rehabilitation services and Senior Choice at Home, a continuing care at home program, the only of its kind in Florida.

Anderson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He furthered his education at the University of Saint Thomas in 2001, where he earned his master’s degree in healthcare administration.
