Gulf Coast Village Welcomes New Community Based Services Administrator
Gulf Coast Village, Cape Coral’s only Life Plan Community and Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS) announces John Nicolette, PT, as their new Community Based Services Administrator.
Nicolette, originally from Oneonta, New York, attended Ithaca College, where he received a B.S. in physical therapy. After practicing for several years, he became a full-time professor of physical therapy in Binghamton, New York. In 1994, Nicolette moved to Fort Myers, Florida, where he has been a resident working as a physical therapist in various settings in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, Florida.
“I am impressed with the expertise and enthusiasm John has already brought to the program and organization,” said VOANS Regional Vice President of Senior Living Operations Ryan Keller. His vision aligns perfectly with our mission, and I am confident that his innovative approach to in-home services will drive us toward achieving new milestones.”
Over the past 20 years, Nicolette has kept his passion for teaching alive by joining the staff at Edison Community College (now Florida Southwestern College) as an adjunct instructor in their physical therapy program. He has also served on the program’s curriculum advisement committee as well as the academic advisory board for Keiser University.
Nicolette’s tenure with Gulf Coast Village campus of services began in the fall of 2010 when he was named director of rehabilitation for the campus’ Care Center. He subsequently became the administrator for home health services in 2013 and now oversees all of Gulf Coast Village’s community-based programs including home health, private duty home care, outpatient therapy, and the Senior Choice at Home program.
“Working with the team here has given me the opportunity to meet some wonderful people out in the community and provided the chance to work with them on a different level than what I have been doing previously at Gulf Coast Village,” Nicolette said. “It has been a very fulfilling experience.”
In his free time, Nicolette enjoys spending time with his wife Diane, and their children Emma and Joseph, all of whom are Gulf Coast Village employees. He and his family are members at Next Level Church and he also performs in community theater productions in the Fort Myers and Cape Coral areas.
