Gulf Coast Village partners with Lee Physician Group for medical director leadership
Gulf Coast Village has appointed Dr. Vasyl Kasiyan with Lee Physician Group to serve as Gulf Coast Village’s new medical director. As part of a new agreement with Lee Physician Group, Dr. Kasiyan now provides Medical Director Leadership to Gulf Coast Village, overseeing the organization’s delivery of quality patient care, including staff education and care management to help ensure a safe and caring environment for residents.
“The addition of Dr. Kasiyan to our team represents our ongoing collaborative healthcare partnership with Lee Memorial Health System to provide the most consistent care, transition from acute to post-acute care,” said Kevin Ahmadi, executive director, Gulf Coast Village. “We can’t find a better partner than Dr. Kasiyan and Lee Physicians Group to lead us through this next phase in healthcare and to ensure we are one accountable healthcare community committed to providing the highest quality of care.”
Dr. Kasiyan is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Directors Association and the American Geriatric Society. His area of expertise is dementia, Alzheimer’s and other types of memory loss, as well as end-of-life and palliative care, anxiety, depression and complex chronic conditions.
In addition to Dr. Kasiyan, residents also receive on-site care from nurse practitioner Nicole Longton, ARNP-C, a Gulf Coast Village nurse, a board-certified advanced registered nurse practitioner. Longton is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Florida Nursing Association and the Southern Gulf Coast Nurse Practitioner Council with expertise in acute illness, preventative medicine, health maintenance and chronic medical care
