Gulf Coast Village residents raise $100,000 for employee appreciation fund
The residents at Gulf Coast Village have raised a record $100,000 in personal contributions for the continuing care community’s employee appreciation fund. Individual checks were gifted to 277 staff members at Gulf Coast Village’s annual associate Christmas Party on Dec. 19.
Gulf Coast Village residents started the employee appreciation fund to thank the non-salaried employees for their dedication to quality care. The residents start fundraising around mid-year and end the collection around the end of October each year. The residents at Gulf Coast Village set criteria for how the collected funds are then distributed to the staff.
“We are so grateful to the residents at Gulf Coast Village who show such a strong appreciation for our staff,” said Greg Anderson, executive director Gulf Coast Village. “We do not allow tipping of associates, so this is one way the residents have chosen to personally give back our staff.”
For over 30 years, Gulf Coast Village has been the premier Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Cape Coral, Florida. The community offers the security of knowing there is a full continuum of care when needed that includes: independent living, assisted living, specialized memory support, skilled nursing, outpatient services and home health care.
